3d Printing Terms and Conditions

These general Terms and Conditions establish the relationship between Originate 3d, a DBA of North Texas International, LLC, a Limited Liability Corporation established in Texas, USA, hereinafter referred to as “Originate 3d”, and any individual or corporation requesting a quote and purchasing services through the Originate 3d website, hereinafter referred to as the Customer(s).

Originate 3d provides 3D printing services to Customers worldwide.  The online Quote form is provided to reduce administrative costs and better serve Customers.  Customers must upload an STL CAD file for quotation and they therefore are responsible for knowing how to produce a high-quality STL, for ensuring the geometry features are appropriate for the requested process (wall thickness, envelope size, support removal, feature size, manifold), and for doing their own research on the materials and any limitations for a particular process.  STL files should contain only one solid body per file.  Customers may still obtain 3d printing from Originate 3d even if they do not have the requisite knowledge to create proper STL files but additional consulting services may be necessary prior to fulfilling the 3d printing request.

Originate 3d reserves the right to change prices at any time for any reason. Originate 3d reserves the right to cancel any orders and refund Customer payments for any reason, including, but not limited to, machinery malfunction, geometry with errors, and sudden changes in raw material costs.

STL files can have errors which are not discoverable until the printing process has run for hours.  For this reason, fees are considered earned when Originate 3d begins to print an object regardless of eventual success or failure.  Originate 3d may waive any amount of the fee should a print fail but is under no obligation to do so.

Customers outside of Texas, USA are responsible for paying the tax of their local governance.  Texas, USA Customers will automatically be charged tax, and will be refunded said tax upon delivery of a Form 01-339.

Originate 3d guarantees that orders will begin processing within the quoted lead time.  However, for very large orders, the machine time of the 3D Printers may cause the whole order to be delayed.  Although Originate 3d typically exceeds requested lead times, quoted lead times do not account for extended production times or for shipping time.  Originate 3d accepts no liability for delays in shipping.

Originate 3d will ship parts using USPS, UPS, FedEx and/or any other commercial delivery service.  Merchandise may also be delivered by Originate 3d to local Customers.  Customer is responsible for informing Originate 3d of any special requests in regards to shipping.  The risk of loss and title for all merchandise produced by Originate 3d pass to Customer when the merchandise is delivered to the shipping carrier.  In-person pickups are unavailable at this time due to COVID-19.

Originate 3d is not responsible for Customer design errors or for designs which are unsuitable for 3D Printing.  Originate 3d will not refund parts which are broken by the customer or whose quality is poor because they exceeded the capabilities of a material or process (not accounting for minimum wall thickness, for example).  Originate 3d accepts no liability for damage to property or persons due to the failure of a 3d printed part used in an unsuitable manner.

Logos, copy and photographs found on the Originate 3d website are the sole property of Originate 3d.  Files uploaded by Customers to the Originate 3d website are, by default, the sole property of the Customer.  If Originate 3d wishes to use images of printed parts for the purpose of marketing it will obtain permission in writing first.  Such use does not transfer ownership of the underlying objects.

By sending computer files or designs to Originate 3d, you certify that you are the owner of the design and/or have full rights to replicate the design and/or have full permission of the rights owner to contract out the production the objects to us.  You also certify that the production or reproduction of your file or design does not violate any laws of the State of Texas, the United States of America or the laws of your local governance.  You agree to indemnify Originate 3d from any damages that may occur from your misrepresentation of your rights and legality of your file and the final object, and agree to pay any legal expenses incurred by Originate 3d related to any such  misrepresentation.
